GTFO TFS! - A TFS to Git migration tool
Back in 2018, my then-employer / consulting client went through an acquisition. While I was lucky enough to lead a team that did not touch the legacy codebase, it nevertheless needed to be migrated to Git. So I wrote this mistake small bash utility to do it: turbo/gtfotfs.
Trivia: to run this, and both old and new environments at the same time, a colleague and I purchased a respectable HP server on the spot, using the new parent company's card (with approval of course). We misread the terms though and instead of being delivered, we had to pick it up same day from the local mall. Making this migration truly a ... heavy lift.
What still keeps my up at night is that SourceGraph (yes, that SourceGraph) has forked this and someone did have to work with my horrible Bash code for a while. Like an actual, paid, employee.
